Senior Pranks
Senior pranks are part of a school culture to one extent or another. In some neighborhoods, high school seniors try to "out-do" the previous senior year's prank. For example, if last year's senior class walked a cow "up" the stairs to the second floor hallway, knowing that cows never walk "down" stairs; then this year's senior class will up the ante by stacking used car tires around the flagpole like a bunch of bracelets on your girlfriend's wrist.
In other areas of the country, no one really cares. Seniors just want "outta here" and leave no lasting memories except their photo in the yearbook.
Classic Senior Pranks of the Past:
1.) Disassembling a small car and reassembling it in a classroom or roof of the school. (see above)
2.) Stapling hundreds of paper cups together, arranged on the floor of a classroom; then filling the cups with ice cubes. The next day when the teacher enters the room, the ice has melted and the cups are now filled with water.
Senior Pranks versus Vandalism
Remember a prank is a memorable event that doesn't damage property or harm people. A prank can be "undone" (usually with great difficulty), but without injury.Perpetrators of senior pranks risk being thrown out of the graduation ceremony; Vandals risk being thrown in jail.
